Erasing a partition using the DriveManager is similar to selecting Erase Disk from the Special menu in the Finder, in that it will erase the data contained on the partition.
1. Select a partition from the list at the top right of the Partitions window.
NOTE: You cannot erase the startup partition unless you start up from a floppy.
2. Click on Erase….
3. A password will be asked for, if necessary.
4. A confirmation dialog will appear. Click OK, and the partition will be completely erased, unless a file on that partition is currently open. In that case a dialog will be displayed informing you of this. If this dialog does appear, you must Quit from all applications and repeat steps 1 - 3 above in order to erase this partition.
